About

My name is Amrita. I am in my twenties. My interests are mostly related to the more popular arts like cinema, books and music  but I do keep a superficial interest on the spectrum of life as it happens. My aim with this blog is to write my musings on everyday things, in the realm of the abstract or otherwise or (usually) a concoction of both. I have only been inspired by Francis Bacon’s essays in terms of structure. I carry none of his organisation, his vast wisdom, his sense of encapsulating it in, well, tiny word capsules. Mine are of the more rambling, everyday bloke/blokette variety but I do, most ardently, hope to connect with others who are willing enough, almost fortuitously, to stumble upon my blog and have the kindness to give it their time. To you I extend a dried-up-ready-to-be-shaken hand and the widest of smiles my face can possibly allow.

    1. Thank you, Melis! I shall be sure to include your name in my post. I shall try to answer your questions as a comment in your post, if that is okay. Thanks again.

  1. I realized I have never visited your About Me page! And I have been stalking your blog now for how long? (heehee) Nice to meet you, Amrita! And I am so jealous of your hair!!!!

    1. Ha ha! I hope you at least knew I was a girl all this time! I’ve had so many people commenting on my posts, assuming I am a man, that I decided I had to put up a picture of myself to let them know who I am, if they are interested.
Imagine the curliness of my hair and the length of yours in the same person…the stars would explode!

      1. I despise having my photo taken lol But I do know that eventually I’m going to have to put a proper picture of myself on my site. One where people can see my face lol

      2. It was a big thing for me too, as I am very private even in my personal social media – like facebook, google etc. But, I felt it was important to add a face to the personality-driven essays here. It definitely helped me connect better and get a more regular readership, because people had more of a sense of who I am. I still don’t share any personal info, but a name and a picture are okay for me. There are, of course, many who blog anonymously and do very well. I just felt I needed to personally identify myself with my blog more.

      3. I’m also very private, but I can definitely see how a picture would help visitors feel like they aren’t conversing with a robot! I think providing a picture of myself will probably be the next big thing I do on my blog lol Well, big for me anyways. I’m sure no one else will care, ha ha!
