Mercury

He said, She said
No one understood.
Look at what I made
You said you’d cooperate
But, it’s no good.

Is it just you and me,
Or that flighty god Mercury?

He brought us together
Our words, a dance.
Your enthusiasm seems to weather
This is our last chance.

See his dirty silver
Shine on us liquidly.
He can’t poison us further
We’re toxic already.

There was never a greater cruelty
Than airborne bullets called words
Or words lost to lack of amity
Between two hearts flighty as birds.

What is the mighty Mercury,
To the hell between you and me?
