The Hamas-run Interior Ministry called the rocket fire "outside the national consensus" and said it would exact measures against those behind it. The Iran-backed Al-Sabareen terrorist group in Gaza has yet to release an official statement following the rocket attacks. "They were fired as a meeting was underway between the leadership of the Hamas movement and the Egyptian security delegation over the understandings regarding the Gaza Strip".

All emergency response organizations in the Tel Aviv area increased their alertness following the incident.

Local media reports documented explosions in various sections of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian media reported that Hamas was evacuating military posts in Gaza in preparation for the Israeli response to the rockets.

Tel Aviv's mayor, Ron Huldai, told Israeli television he believes one rocket fell into the sea.
