EA Investigating Anthem PS4 Hard Crash Issue - Asking For player Feedback

Sony is now offering wide spread refunds to most of it's users when it was discovered that Anthem causes a total system crash on the PS4 console. Over 30 people on the Anthem subreddit confirm the game is actually crashing their systems and forcing hardware to turn off at various points in the game.

Forbes video games journalist Paul Tassi, who recently reviewed Anthem on Xbox One X, said that he experienced similar shut down issues while playing the game on Microsoft's console.

Some gamers reported that it did not strike if they manually turned their console off after playing rather than leaving it in a suspended mode. "Took me five minutes".

So far, EA has confirmed that they are looking into the issues and are hoping to find out more about what is causing the problem.

As you may know, Anthem has had crashing issues on every platform since launch, but it appears the PS4 is where the most problems are being had.

Anthem is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Players had reported Anthem was crashing and shutting down the PlayStation 4 at random, prompting many to ask Sony for refunds for the troubled online loot shooter. Though there are quite a few exceptions to the transaction (players who pre-ordered the title seem to be ineligible for cash back), the refund accounts for the total cost of Anthem. According to one comment, the console will shut down as though the power plug has been pulled - leading to the irritating system fix reboot, as well as a likely reset for any external storage attached. A Sony representative didn't return requests for official confirmation. Have you attempted to get a refund and were you successful?

A number of players have claimed that they have been forced to unplug their console to get it to start again, while others state that simply using the power button to reset the PS4 was enough to restart the console.

"Then once the OS loads it displays a system error reporting page to send the error to Sony". When a PlayStation 4 restarts after a hard crash, players are prompted to report crash data and the system runs a check on its drives.
