Houston Rockets acquire Shumpert in 3-team trade

The Rockets sent a first-round pick, Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss to Cleveland and the Kings received Alec Burks from the Cavaliers as part of the trade. The 27-year-old guard is averaging 11.6 points on 37.8 percent shooting from long range to go with 5.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists for Cleveland. He'll give Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni a defensive option should they meet the better perimeter scoring threats - such as Kevin Durant and Paul George - in the playoffs.

Houston acquired Knight, alongside Chriss, this offseason in a trade for Ryan Anderson. Sacramento also picked up a 2020 second-round draft pick from Houston.

The Cavaliers will entertain other offers prior to Thursday's 3 p.m. deadline, but they traded Hood and Burks, which were the two players most-likely to be dealt. Burks' contract expires this summer.
