Spacey leaves Nantucket District Court following his arraignment.

The judge set another hearing for March 4.

Spacey's lawyer has questioned the evidence against him.

He said the actor would not need to appear then, but should be available by phone. The former House of Cards star, who has been recently staying at an apartment in Baltimore, was joined by his attorney, Alan Jackson, who was in the passenger's seat. The alleged victim was represented by assistant district attorney Michael Giardino.

Spacey is accused of sexually assaulting the teenage son of former Boston WCVB-TV news anchor Heather Unruh at a Nantucket bar in July 2016. According to the criminal complaint, an 18-year-old busboy at Club Car told Spacey that he was 23 and befriended the actor, known for his roles in the film "The Usual Suspects" and the Netflix series "House of Cards".

The victim told police Spacey had bought him several rounds of beer and whiskey and said at one point, "Let's get drunk", according to charging documents.

The 59-year-old actor is one of dozens of men in entertainment, business and politics who have been accused of sexual misconduct since accusations against movie producer Harvey Weinstein in 2017 sparked the #MeToo movement.

As they stood next to a piano, it is claimed Spacey put his hands down the man's pants.

Spacey posted the video on Twitter on December 24, making it the first time he had tweeted since addressing Rapp's sexual misconduct allegations. She said her son fled the restaurant when Spacey went to the bathroom. Spacey tried to get out of appearing at his arraignment, saying his presence would "amplify the negative publicity already generated" by the case. If convicted of the felony charge, he face a possible prison sentence of up to five years.

Spacey said he had no memory of the event, but publicly apologised before issuing an "absolute" denial of all other allegations.

"My son was a starstruck, straight 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim", Unruh said at the time.

The victim said that is when he left.

"I can promise you this", Spacey said, "If I didn't pay the price for the things we both know I did do, I'm certainly not going to pay the price for the things I didn't do".
