Kansas City’s RB Kareem Hunt fired after kicking and pushing woman

The Kansas City Chiefs released running back Kareem Hunt on Friday night after video surfaced that showed the NFL's reigning rushing champion knocking over and kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel hallway in February.

'Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt, ' the Chiefs said in a statement.

The Chiefs cut ties with Hunt on Friday after the video of the February incident was released.

The ex-Kansas City Chiefs star running back was not arrested over the incident and the victim declined to press charges, police said at the time.

In an interview with ESPN, Hunt said he could have an issue with anger management. Rice told NFL.com that he would've urged Hunt to consider whether it was "worth risking it all for a split-second decision - for something you know you can get out of", but acknowledged that Hunt might not have been "in his right mind" when he lashed out. "I'm sure he learned some lessons this off-season and hopefully won't be in those kinds of situations in the future", he said.

The NFL is reportedly investigating a separate incident where Kareem Hunt was accused of punching a man in the face at an OH resort in the months after he beat a 18-year-old woman in a hotel.

Reid referred to a statement the Chiefs issued upon releasing Hunt and said little other than to indicate that the decision to cut Hunt was a hard one. There's no try. You've just got to do it.

"Honestly, I just want to let the world know how sorry I am for my actions", Hunt said.

As in the case with the hotel incident, no charges were filed in that case.

The former Chiefs running back was placed on the commissioner exempt list on Friday, which will keep him off the field until the National Football League finishes its investigation.

Hunt told ESPN he had never met the woman, who called 911 around 3:42 a.m. on February 10 and told dispatchers she'd been assaulted.

What happens now? Hunt appears to want to acknowledge his wrongdoing with the intention of beginning his suspension as soon as possible.

Hunt now is on the commissioner's exempt list.

"The NFL has placed Kareem Hunt of the Kansas City Chiefs on the Commissioner Exempt list, and as a result, he may not practice, play or attend games". The Washington Redskins just recently picked Reuben Foster up after his second accusal of domestic violence.
