Nairobi motorists should brace themselves for a day of heavy traffic as US First Lady Melania Trump tours the city.

The message appeared to be a response to the remark allegedly made by Melania's husband, President Donald Trump, in January 2018: that various African nations were "s-thole countries".

Melania Trump's visit, which started in Ghana and will continue on to Kenya and Egypt, has so far attracted varied interest levels in Africa with few crowds lining streets to see her.

Melania first landed in Ghana where she was warmly received by Ghana's First Lady Rebbecca Akufo-Addo.

The school is struggling with only 75 teachers looking after around 8,000 enrolled children.

The US First Lady is now in Malawi on a tour focusing on promotion children's welfare.

Ambassador Palmer then spoke, telling the group that the agency's donation of 1.2 million books past year was the first time the school had received books in English. "I was heartened to spend time with the students and was honored to donate school supplies and soccer balls".

President Trump supported his wife's visit, sharing that, "It is a lovely thing to see".

After about 20 minutes of tea, the first ladies strolled onto the terrace to applause.

Mrs Trump will be visting Kenya for two days with eyes set on health, education and environmental conservation as her key agenda.

The same will happen along roads leading to the Kenyatta National Theatre, where Sarakasi dancers will perform.
