The Android Go experience, now made sweeter.

The speech feature hopes to enhance the browser's convenience - and no doubt, its user base - by reading articles and web pages aloud, using a dedicated algorithm to pick out the most important information on the page.

The service supports 28 languages, including prominent Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, and Tamil.

Google's announcements this year focus on furthering their efforts to localise their ecosystem for Indian users. Furthermore, online video now accounts for 75% of all mobile traffic. This includes vernacular or local language publications. Google Pay works with all major banks in India on BHIM UPI (Unified Payments Interface). In about one year, the platform has saw over 750 million transactions worth over $30 billion (Rs 200,000 crore). People who are approved for the loans will see the money deposited directly into their bank account associated with Google Pay.

At the end of July, Google announced some new features coming to various apps in its suite of Android Go products. Google unveiled Tez in India a year ago, with the app built on the government's new digital payments framework, Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

Google today said it has partnered Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Ltd (APSFNL) to bring Google Station to over 12,000 villages, a move that will provide Internet access to about 10 million people.

For this, Google has partnered with banks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. After Android Pay and Google Wallet's unification back in February, Tez will be lumped into the Google Pay service as well. The merchant experience is also being beefed up with Google adding the ability to find new customers using Google Maps and sending out customised notifications to users. Paytm's founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma and its parent One97 Communications run a payments bank and the payments firm also plans to expand to selling financial products such as insurance and mutual funds in India - the world's fastest growing internet services market.

Android Go, also known as Android Oreo (Go edition), is a stripped-down version of Android created to run on entry-level smartphones.

Google has also announced the next round of its free Wi-Fi project in India.
