Louis CK returns to stand-up

In a set filled with bits on racism, parades and waitresses' tips - what Comedy Cellar owner Noah Dworman described to the New York Times as "typical Louis C.K. stuff" - the comedian was said to be "very relaxed" in his return to the public eye.

"It sounded just like he was trying to work out some new material", Dworman said, adding it was just like any other night over the past decade, where the comedian would just decide to pop in for a few minutes.

Louis CK has not worked until November, when two women came forward to say he forced them to watch him masturbate in his hotel room when they were playing at a comedy festival in 2002.

The "Louie" star had no advanced billing when he popped up at the famed Comedy Cellar late Saturday night, clubgoers said.

In a New York Times article published in November, four female comedians claimed that C.K. had masturbated in front of them, while a fifth claimed he masturbated while speaking with her on the phone. Before the New York Times broke the story, Louis refused to talk about "rumours" of inappropriate behaviour on multiple occasions.
