Michael Jordan stands with LeBron James after Donald Trump's Twitter insults

President Donald Trump is being accused of racism after he tweeted about National Basketball Association legend LeBron James and CNN anchor Don Lemon on Friday night.

The school, which is a joint effort of the LeBron James Family Foundation and Akron Public Schools, will benefit at-risk children. "He made Lebron (sic) look smart, which isn't easy to do".

James is coming off an eventful week where he opened up a school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Every student receives free tuition, as well as free food, a uniform and even a free bike. James has been the school's largest donor and active in its development.

Barnes was on the "Lunchtime with Roggin and Rodney" show on "AM 570 LA Sports" show Friday and talked about that play - and how it made him a Laker the next season.

"I can't sit back and say nothing", James said in his CNN interview.

His commitment to children that were falling behind in school, vowing to use the new school to help them not only catch up with their peers, but to excel, was put in direct contrast to several Trump government policies seen to disadvantage young people as social media users erupted over the President's tweet.

Trump had expressed his displeasure with the interview on Twitter, insulting both Lemon and LeBron James.

Asked later what he'd say if he ever found himself face-to-face with Trump, he replied: "I would never sit across from him".

"Who's the real dummy?" LeBron James has yet to respond to Trump's comments. "LeBron just pledged millions for a school for underprivileged kids".

James also said he wouldn't attend a ceremony at the White House if his team had won the NBA Finals.

Trump's tweet came after James said he thought Trump was trying to divide people using sports.

James tweeted at the time.

"I like Mike!" Trump added, seemingly referencing basketball legend Michael Jordan, with whom James is often compared.

All-stars Bradley Beal and Karl-Anthony Towns were the first colleagues to react, before Donovan Mitchell also chimed in.

He also, after former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson reportedly called him a "moron", challenged his own Cabinet member to an IQ test.
