Game Of Thrones Season 8: HBO Narrows Down Its Premiere Date

It's taken years but theDeadwood is officially, definitely happening at HBO.

Lately, there's been some confusion circling the seven kingdoms and beyond about the Jane Goldman-scripted GAME OF THRONES prequel, though HBO chief Casey Boys has recently come forward with an update for those looking forward to the mysterious show.

The critically-acclaimed, cult favourite drama from David Milch ran for three seasons on HBO, premiering in 2004 and reaching its end in 2006 after a dispute between Paramount, its studio, and the network. "And for a show to arouse that kind of feeling, that's what we want".

As for Game of Thrones season 8, Bloys refused to get specific about what fans could expect from the final season or even when it will air, saying only that it will be sometime during "the first half of next year".

None of the current Game of Thrones actors will appear on this series. Here's what Bloys had to say. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend... it's not the story we think we know.

The pilot that's now in development is helmed by Jane Goldman and set in the world of "Game of Thrones" - hundreds of years before Jon Snow was even a pout in his parents' eyes. Bloys said that isn't going to be the case, but hopes that the new show will go into production in early 2019.
