Dennis Rodman Weeps As He Recounts His Unwavering Faith In North Korea

Kim Jong Un is a "great guy" with a firm conviction to change his country for the better, said former National Basketball Association superstar Dennis Rodman, who has met the North Korean leader several times. "The president had seen some of your comments over the last several days, and he just wanted me to reach out and thank you for some of the positive things you said and appreciate you being helpful in this process". Rodman later told the AP in a phone interview that the call had come from White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

He further stated that the controversial talks between him and Kim and now between Trump and Kim were the right thing to do.

Per CNN's Kevin Liptak, the meeting between Trump and Kim resulted in Kim signing a document that "reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula".

He added: "Just meeting the regime, meeting Kim Jong-un and the marshalls, I just fell in love with the country from day one". "I said to everybody, 'The door will open'".

Rodman - a close friend of the supreme leader of the North Korea - ended up weeping during a TV interview on CNN.

The eccentric star also said he got death threats following his return from North Korea in 2014. During that visit, Rodman presented a copy of "The Art of the Deal", Trump's 1987 book on negotiation strategy, to a North Korean diplomat as a gift for Kim.

Trump and Kim appeared to greet each other warmly as they met at the Capella Hotel in Singapore.

"I don't want to see that, I want to see it go away".

He said:"I was very naive when I went over there".

"Let's just hope for the best", said Rodman. I still kept going back.

He continued, getting increasingly emotional.
