Apple is adding both of the new Safari features to the versions of the web browser that come with the Mac, the iPhone and the iPad.

The announcement by the company comes amid a growing focus on protecting privacy following a Facebook data scandal and new rules being enforced by the European Union for online services.

Apple is holding its yearly Worldwide Developer's Conference, or WWDC, which means we get a preview of its upcoming software, including iOS 12, the new Apple Watch OS, and more.

In addition to making iPhones and iPads faster and more responsive with performance improvements across the system, iOS 12 brings tons of new features such as "Memoji", Group FaceTime calls, Siri shortcuts, Screen Time, fun new camera effects, improved Photos app and much more. "We're using advanced algorithms to make AR even more engaging and on-device intelligence to deliver faster ways to get things done using Siri". These tools will become available to developers sometime in 2019, though Apple already used internal versions of these tools to bring iOS apps like Apple News and Stocks to macOS Mojave.

Like Google, Apple is also introducing tools so that users can better monitor and limit the amount of time they spend gawping at their iDevice.

Tweaks to the do not disturb function also clean up notifications, and allow do not disturb to automatically end in response to a specific time or location. Bloomberg reports that the company wants to spread the wealth of the iOS App Store to desktop computers and will announce a new feature that lets iPhone apps run on Macs. The app also lets users set daily time limits for individual apps, and a notification will be shown when the time limit is about to expire.

This feature will also hit close to home for users of popular automation tool Workflow, which allows users to create and launch lists of tasks for their phones to accomplish.
