With the introduction of features like facial-recognition programs and smaller batteries, Apple engineers are grappling with more hard software challenges than they have with previous iPhone models. Leaked screenshots also suggest the new version of the OS could bring with it a new dark theme that could possibly merge well with the iMac Pro. Now Apple typically tries to keep WWDC limited to software-related announcements as much as possible, but from time to time they do announce new hardware or refreshes to existing hardware.

Based on the video posted by Chinese video-sharing website Miaopai and redirected to YouTube by Macotakara, the iPhone SE 2 will sport a similar design to the previous iteration, the iPhone SE. The new tablet could also get Face ID facial recognition technology, which debuted on the iPhone X in 2017.
